Hello earthlings! 🌱
We are coming to the end of autmn season in dancing. In the beginning of this season I had three goals to work on:
my neck/shoulder ratio
my breathing
having more fun while dancing
I can proudly say that all of my goals have been fulfilled. In addition to that I have been keeping a learing diary on a weekly basis and I can see that it has also contributed immensly to my progress. After all these week of working hard, taking extra dance classes and inserting myself into various projects I am glad to report that my body feels like my own again. In other words dancing feels so damn good right now.
About a year ago I was really struggling to feel my body and all the movements felt really heavy. I didn't have any air in my movements and I also didn't have contact with my best friend, or should I say my ex-best friend, the floor. Look, me and the floor used to be best friends when years ago I used to dance contemporary. I literally used to give workshops to other dancers how to be best friends with the floor and somehow in the middle of all this I lost myself. But now I can feel the contact with the floor come back and I love it.
Fearing something is not very characteristic to me, but somehow I fell to the pitfall of having my focus in the wrong things. Unconsciously I was so worried about messing up, that I wasn't even dancing anymore! There was a time in my life where recovering from an injury took a toll on me, the Tarot reader in Spain told me I am a Phoenix that rises from the ashes and in that moment I couldn't see it, but now I can. Because now I truly feel like the Phoenix. Just like he said, I came back stronger than ever.
Along the progress that I have achieved to my neck, shoulders and breating, I have also made progress with my flexibility and memory. I am now searching for the new big goals, but for the rest of the year I will just enjoy and I hope you do the same. Above you can see some pictures of our projects and trainings. 💃
